American Tenor, Aaron Pegram is currently in is 10th season as an ensemble member at the Semperoper Dresden. Known for is magnetic stage presence and beautiful tone, Aaron has performed over twenty different roles with the company. His most recent roles include Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos conducted by Christian Thielemann, Conferencier in Cabaret, Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Erster Jude in Salome, and the Four Servants in Les Contes d’Hoffmann.

 

Other notable performances in new productions include Beppe in Pagliacci, the Radio Singer in The Great Gatsby, tenor soloist in Doktor Faust, and Harlekin in Der Kaiser von Atlantis. In the 2014/2015 season, Aaron performed the role of Don Basilio in a new production Le nozze di Figaro. This production was then invited to the prestigious Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland where he reprised the role in the summer of 2015.

 

He made his Houston Grand Opera debut in 2015 as Monastatos in The Magic Flute and debuted at New York City Opera as Goro in Madama Butterfly in 2008.

 

Mr. Pegram has enjoyed several seasons with the Santa Fe Opera. After two seasons as an apprentice, he returned to perform Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro in 2008. In 2013, he was Baron Puck in The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein, and the Detective/Prison Guard in the world premiere of Theodore Morrison’s Oscar.   

 

His introduction into opera began at Orlando Opera as a young artist in 2003. As a local favorite, Aaron guested in several shows with the company including Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Little Bat in Susannah, Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, and Beppe/The Swan in I Pagliacci/ Carmina Burana.

 

Before making the move to opera, Aaron performed the role of Quasimodo over 1500 times in the live show of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Disney World in Orlando Florida. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre from the University of Tulsa.
